Matt is the Director of Investments and General Counsel for Twain Financial Partners. In his capacity as Director of Investments, Matt oversees the firm’s federal renewable energy tax credit, state new markets tax credit and PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) business lines as well as the firm’s underwriting and project management functions. In addition, Matt is responsible for capital raising for the federal historic and renewable energy and state historic and affordable housing tax credit platforms. As General Counsel, Matt’s responsibilities include product development and transaction structuring.
Prior to joining Twain Financial Partners, Matt spent nearly 8 years as a real estate and commercial finance attorney with Husch Blackwell LLP, representing developers, lenders, investors and non-profit organizations in residential and commercial transactions that involved various forms of public finance.
Matt received his J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois.
Matt currently serves on the Buildings and Grounds Committee of the City Garden Montessori School and has previously served as Husch Blackwell’s representative on the Missouri Botanical Garden’s Corporate Council. He lives with his wife and two daughters in Webster Groves, MO.
